Intent

Kit.com (ConvertKit) API v4 helpers for subscriber/waitlist signups, tags, forms, segments, sequences, broadcast drafts, and HTML that matches Kent's newsletter conventions. Transport is a thin OpenAPI-scaffolded client (kitApiKey → X-Kit-Api-Key).

What it does

  • Subscribe/upsert people and apply tags (waitlists, signups)
  • Create broadcast drafts only — nothing sends or schedules from helpers; a human sends from the Kit UI via the returned editUrl
  • List and fetch broadcasts, sequences, account/broadcast stats
  • Create sequences and enroll subscribers; sync sequence email HTML
  • Compose email HTML with Liquid greetings and list blocks
  • Better with Kent YouTube episode drafts via createBwkYoutubeBroadcastDraft

Prerequisites / setup

  1. Create a Kit v4 API key in the Kit developer settings.
  2. Save it in Kody as user secret kitApiKey (do not paste the key value in chat). Kit v4 uses header X-Kit-Api-Key only — not Authorization: Bearer.
  3. Approve host api.kit.com and package access to kitApiKey if prompted.
  4. Agents: see AGENTS.md for import paths, smoke checks, and BWK draft requirements.

Done when

  • kitApiKey is saved; host and package secret access are approved
  • Read-only smoke test returns account + a small broadcast sample
  • Broadcast helpers only create/update drafts; sends stay in the Kit UI
