Intent

Authenticated Transistor.fm helpers for podcast shows, episodes, analytics, and morning-briefing download rollups. Prefer named typed exports (listShows, listEpisodes, getMorningBriefingSnapshot, createEpisode, patchShow, publishEpisode, …) with concrete input/output types; the default action dispatcher remains for compatibility but is not the primary contract.

This package is the preferred path for Transistor API work from Cursor agents (via Kody MCP). Local repo scripts that still call Transistor directly are fallbacks for offline/audio-upload edge cases.

What it does

• Verify Transistor API access and list Kent's podcast shows
• Patch show metadata from transistor-show.json fields (patchShow)
• List or inspect episode metadata; create draft episodes when explicitly requested
• Schedule or publish existing episodes (publishEpisode)
• Update episode description, artwork, video_url, or clear legacy summaries
• Read per-episode download analytics for reporting or morning-briefing snapshots
• Look up Kent show ids, slugs, and YouTube channel mapping via ./shows

Prerequisites / setup

1. Create a Transistor.fm API key in the Transistor dashboard.
2. Save it in Kody as user secret TRANSISTOR_API_KEY (do not paste the key value in chat). Prefill: https://kody.codes/account/secrets/new?name=TRANSISTOR_API_KEY&description=Transistor.fm%20API%20key&allowedHosts=api.transistor.fm&scope=user
3. Approve host api.transistor.fm and package access to TRANSISTOR_API_KEY if prompted.
4. Agents: see AGENTS.md for import paths and smoke checks.

Done when

• TRANSISTOR_API_KEY is saved; api.transistor.fm and package secret access are approved
• Read-only smoke (smokeTest / listShows) returns shows for the account
• Mutating helpers (createEpisode, updateEpisode, patchShow, publishEpisode) are only run after you confirm the target show/episode
