@kody/doom (KODOOM)

KODOOM poster — Kody as Doomguy on a Freedoom-era DOOM cover parody

Installable browser PWA for Freedoom on Chocolate Doom WASM with WebMCP.

Intent

Give humans and browser agents a branded, installable way to play a real Doom-engine experience using redistributable open content (Freedoom). Success: hosted app starts Freedoom or shareware, PWA shell works offline after cache, WebMCP tools drive the same handlers as UI buttons.

Legal / branding

Package / community listing mark is the pixel tough Kody head (icon.png) — not the official DOOM wordmark. The README poster may still depict classic DOOM cover branding as parody art. The DOOM name and wordmark are trademarks of id Software / Bethesda. This package is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by id Software, Bethesda, or related entities. Do not imply affiliation.

Game data shipped / linked for play is Freedoom (open/BSD) and optionally Doom shareware from their respective redistributors — not commercial IWAD files. See COPYING.GPL for engine source-offer notes.

Engine

Uses an open-source Doom engine port compiled to WebAssembly under GPLv2. Default game data is Freedoom Phase 1 (BSD). See COPYING.GPL for source offer notes.

PWA

Includes manifest.webmanifest, service worker shell cache, 192 and 512 icons, apple touch icon, theme color, display standalone, and an offline shell message. Community listing icon is root icon.png (pixel tough Kody head on near-black square).

Browser agent tools

Registers get_status, start_game, pause_or_resume, toggle_fullscreen, send_input, select_episode_or_map, get_controls, open_help via the browser modelContext API. Declarative forms included. UI badge shows ready versus unavailable.
